About the Journal

Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Sosiosaintifik (JurDikMas) is a scholarly journal dedicated to community service and engagement. It is published by Universitas Puangrimaggalatung, Indonesia, through its Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM). First published in 2019, the journal holds P-ISSN 2686-164X and E-ISSN 2808-1870.

JurDikMas provides a platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and community service teams to share the application of knowledge, technology, and research findings in addressing community needs. The journal emphasizes the connections between scientific knowledge, social contexts, community participation, and benefits for participating communities.

Focus and Scope

The journal welcomes multidisciplinary contributions on community service and engagement in the following areas:

  • Education and Capacity Development: formal and non-formal education, literacy, skills training, teacher development, and human resource development.
  • Community Empowerment and Regional Development: poverty reduction through local resources, village development, coastal management, and community empowerment informed by local knowledge.
  • Economics and Entrepreneurship: micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), creative industries, home-based businesses, business management, and marketing.
  • Agriculture and Local Resources: capacity development for agricultural communities, agricultural product processing, and enterprises based on regional resources.
  • Environment and Disaster Preparedness: environmental management, environmentally responsible technology, community-based ecotourism, disaster mitigation, and preparedness.
  • Community Health: health promotion, disease prevention, hygiene practices, and evidence-based education on medicinal plants.
  • Technology, Arts, and Culture: appropriate technology, community communication, and the development and preservation of arts, literature, and cultural heritage.

Article Characteristics

Submissions should systematically describe community service activities, including the identification of community needs or problems, objectives, participant characteristics, implementation methods, community involvement, results, and evaluation.

The discussion should explain the benefits of the activities, implementation limitations, and opportunities for sustainability or application in other contexts. Activity documentation should support the analysis rather than serve as the sole evidence of success. Authors should distinguish between activity outputs, observed changes, and long-term impacts that have not yet been evaluated.

Journal Continuity and Website Migration

Following technical and security issues affecting the previous website, JurDikMas was restored and migrated to the current platform. This migration represents the continuation of the same journal and does not constitute the establishment of a new journal.

JurDikMas retains its journal identity, ISSNs, publication history, previously published volumes and issues, and DOI identifiers assigned to its published articles.
